Food for Thought: Thanksgiving Blessing UPDATE!

November 5, 2015

We wanted to send out a quick update about our Thanksgiving Blessing happening in a few weeks, and it’s not too late to be a part of it! This will be the second year in a row our family and friends combine our efforts to purchase two Thanksgiving Meals for two different families.

In our last post, we shared that Esmeralda and Anita were beyond blessed by our thoughts last year, and we would like to continue the tradition.

Typically, when people think of community service that provides meals on Thanksgiving, they think about those less fortunate in terms of finances and/or housing. In efforts to break this mold of thinking, that community service looks a certain way, we’ve put no specific criteria on who we decide to bless.

There are many amazing organizations putting on Thanksgiving Outreaches for the less fortunate in churches and parks around the island. How awesome would it be to partner alongside that same heart of wanting to give, and bless firefighters with a hot, thanksgiving meal? Or a group of college students away from home? What about a single mom who works hard to provide for her family?

We are excited to announce that one family has gratefully accepted our blessing! Now this is where YOU come in! Help us find ONE MORE family to bless this Thanksgiving.

Please email your suggestions to Heather Faustin at

This year we will be purchasing both meals from Creations in Catering. Please see the menu below for the items both families will be receiving.

As always, BE INSPIRED. #differencemakers #hawaiigivesback #dmh
